There are a total of three different ski facilities in Falu Municipality. The closest to town is Källviksbacken. In Källviksbacken there is one of Sweden's funnest and best parks (according to their website), you can easily get here by bus. Outside Falun there is also the Svärdsjöliften, which offers nice downhill skiing. There are lots of places to go cross-country skiing in Falun. The most famous place is of course Lugnet. But if you are scared of the killer hill, you can instead visit one of the lakes Runn, Vällan or Varpan. Stångtjärn and Pumpen offer good electric light tracks if you want to go in the evening. For those who have a car, we recommend a visit to the snow-sure Sörskog outside Bjursås.

When summer comes, be sure to visit one of all the beaches that Falun has to offer. The beach closest to the Bristsen student accommodation is Bojsen Beach, here you will also find volleyball nets. You might be tempted by a dip in Kålgårn, which is entirely possible, but it might be a good idea to check that the water is okay first. If you fancy swimming in a pond, we can warmly recommend Stångtjärn, it's a short bike ride away from Bristen.

If you like hiking, there are plenty of options in Falun. From Britsen, it is easy to get up to Lugnet with all its trails. A tip from us is to go the Water way. They are pleasant environments and you get the chance to acquire some knowledge about the world heritage as well. Cycling is big In Dalarna and Falun there are 3 different facilities; Lugnet, Källviksbacken and Bjursås. But of course it's also fine to cycle at the trail centers that exist, Stångtjärn is very popular.

Falu municipality responsible for 3 outdoor gyms; Kålgården, Lugnet (along the electric light track), Tisken (by Kopparvallen).
 

In addition to the outdoor gyms that the municipality takes care of, there are other outdoor gyms around the municipality.

• In Vika, the outdoor gym is adjacent to the large obstacle course.

• In Bjursås you will find an outdoor gym at Hanses Hällar.

• Sundborn has an outdoor gym next to the sports field.
